Modest Clothing Articles

Modest Clothing Distributors was formed in reaction to the deficiency of modesty in the Western World. We have created this “Modesty Articles” page as a resource for our clients to glean information that will be helpful as they encourage their family, friends, and acquaintances to choose long, modest dresses and skirts, and modest tops and everyday clothing when adding to their wardrobe.

You can return to the “Modesty Articles” page often, as Randy will add his thoughts on different topics concerning modesty on a regular basis. We will also be asking others to share their modesty articles to be posted here. In fact if you have some thoughts concerning some aspect of modesty that you would like to share with our readers feel free to submit it, using the form below. By submitting your article you are giving Modest Clothing Distributors full rights to post your article, and to submit it to other sites that are devoted to exhorting women to dress in modest clothing.

Vocation

Tuesday June 1st, has been designated Wear a Dress Day, by a facebook subscriber somewhere in the world. Regardless of the original intent of this person, a quick perusal of the page reveals that modest dress is not necessarily going to be the attire of the day. Glorifying God in appearance is not on the mind of at least some of the few who have jumped on this bandwagon. Wear a Dress Day...

Purity of Christian Youth

As Max approached Pastor Porter, the pastor could see the distraught look on his young face. With compassion in his voice Pastor Porter asked, “How can I be of assistance to you, young man?” With immense emotion Max began

Life Principles

The book of Proverbs has a lot to say about wisdom and foolishness, about righteousness and wickedness. It is easy to read these proverbs and remove ourselves from the idea of being the foolish person mentioned in many of them—to subconsciously think that that does not relate to us/me. I had done this for years. Then one time I read Proverbs 14:1

The Great Commission

“It's all about me.” This sentiment is the natural outgrowth of the deification of man, which is the aegis of Secular Humanism. For Secular Humanism to reign the people must be dumbed down, and this has been remarkably accomplished. Tragically, this thinking, and this dumbing down, has infected the church in 21st century America, and it has perverted the scope of the great commission.

New Easter Dress

In years gone by it was the tradition of all the young ladies, of all ages, to buy a new dress for the Easter Sunday celebration at their respective churches. The 21st century church has abandoned that tradition by and large, in favor of a more casual look.

Can't Legislate Morality

'You just want your cake and eat it too.' Of course I want to eat it too, what good is cake if you can't eat it? 'It's always the last place I look.' So glad you don't continue to look after you found it, smart guy. 'Can I ask you a question?' It's a little for that now isn't it? 'Has the bus come yet?' Yeah, I'm still standing here so that I can tell you that the bus already came. 'You can't legislate morality.' Then what do you legislate?

Pornography the Forgotten Vice

Attorney General Edwin Meese III announced the formation of a commission to “study...the dimensions of the problem of pornography...review...the available empirical evidence on the relationship between exposure to pornographic materials and antisocial behavior...”

In Defense of Shame

In a recent radio broadcast Ravi Zacharias said, “You cannot, simply cannot, build a culture when nothing is shameful anymore.” If you believe the truthfulness of this statement and as you watch standards of modest dress decline in the American 'culture' you may be wondering how much time is left before this culture implodes and what, if anything, you can do to combat the spirit of the age. Many are already taking practical measures to defeat the attitude that modest dress does not matter.

No Morality Without the Transcendent Foundation of Jesus and His Law

In the Rich Christiansen film The Time Changers the story is told of the Christian college professor of the 19th century who writes a book encouraging morality in society apart from the law of God and Jesus Christ. This character is then transported through time to the present, where he encounters the society that tried this formula. To his horror...

Holiness

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a people set at liberty, that ye should show forth the virtues of him that hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (I Peter 2:9). This one passage summarizes some highly important aspects of the concept of holiness.

Relating The Emperor's New Clothes to the American Scene

Why did the little boy in the story of the Emperor's New Clothes see that it was wrong that the emperor was wearing no clothes while the rest of the kingdom continued to praise the king? Could it be that the little boy was like the “little children” of faith in Matthew chapter 18? Does this story have any application to American society today?

The parable of the playboy business man

There was in the land of Us a man who enjoyed an adulterous life. His heart was hardened and he experienced no shame because of the lifestyle that he had chosen. He owned a small chain of dance studios that brought him both success and pleasure. He enjoyed success due to a steady flow of clientèle into his studios. His pleasure was evoked by the beautiful young girls that he hired to teach his clientèle dance.

Do we see what they see?

Have you heard the announcement sometimes on the radio—“This is a test of the emergency broadcast system. It is only a test!”? Well, there is something we all have, called the autonomic nervous system, which is our emergency system. And we don’t get to hear the announcement before it goes into effect! This is a response system that we don’t even realize is there at times. Imagine these scenarios:

Modern Day Fairy Tale-War of the Creator of the Universe vs. Religious Humanism/Individual Autonomy

Once upon a time in a land very near, there were beautiful maidens everywhere. Their beauty captured your attention because you were not distracted by low cut necklines and short hem lines. Mature maidens were a model for the young maidens. Young gentlemen were taught to respect and protect the maidens in the land. Because this is not truly a modern day fairy tale all was not utopia.

Christian Tolerance is not the Last Defense of the Secular Humanist

Americans have learned to be offended at the drop of a hat today. Last week you learned that the First Amendment to the Constitution does not protect you from offense proceeding from religious assertions of absolute truth. Today's contrast of the traditional Christian doctrine of tolerance with the Liberal Pluralist's doctrine of tolerance will shatter the remaining defenses of a godless society against the truth of God.

Thoughts on the Holy Trinity v. United States Supreme Court case

You will notice that I have presented no doubtful facts. Nothing has been stated which is debatable. The quotations from charters are in the archives of the several States; the laws are on the statute books; judicial opinions are taken from the official reports . . .

First Amendment Protections of Absolute Assertions Based Upon Religious Dogma

Too many people have been conditioned to believe that the First Amendment to the Constitution protects them from the assertion that immodest dress is a sin. This thinking stems from two fallacious premises. First it comes from a misunderstanding of the function of the Constitution, and secondly

The Kingdom of God

Quoting Pastor Joel Parkinson, of Alliance, Ohio, “God has not called us to be successful, He has called us to be faithful. Do you ever get discouraged when you are working for the sake of God's Kingdom? An understanding of the Kingdom of God and a deeper understanding of the providential hand of God working through history will help you maintain your joy in the midst of the trials associated with the work of God.

Soli Deo Gloria, The Right Reason to Advance The Women's Revolution for Modest Dress

There is a growing movement within the Christian community to dress modestly. This movement is not entirely in response to Saturday night at the restaurant or movie house, it is partially in response to Sunday morning and the youth meetings in the churches. Everything about this movement is positive, but there is one caution for those in the movement to heed.

The Biblical Christianity of the Reformation Versus the Enlightenment Being Promoted by the Media

Most media personalities look upon the Enlightenment with favor because they, along with most Americans, have been taught to believe that the American Revolution of 1776 is a result of Enlightenment thinking. In addition the vast majority of media people do not believe in God. Nothing could be further from the truth on both counts.
