Review of The Proverbs 31 Woman #2 True Beauty

On Mother's Day every year we expect to hear a sermon on the Proverbs 31 woman, but is that the sermon that you expect to hear at a retreat dealing with father-daughter relationships? Proverbs 31 is what you get from Scott Brown in the second installment of the “True Beauty” series from Vision Forum.

Mr. Brown points out that Proverbs 31 is a letter written by a mother to her son. From there he challenges fathers with their role in developing their daughters into the Proverbs 31 woman, and encourages daughters to accept their place under the authority of their fathers in order to develop into a Proverbs 31 woman.

The exposition of Proverbs 31 from this perspective is eye-opening. When viewing scripture with a multi-generational perspective in mind, fathers will be especially challenged with the great responsibility that God has placed in their charge. The family has been given authority over most of the important functions by God, and Proverbs 31 is a central guide to prepare women for their part in that responsibility. Scott Brown shows men how they can use Proverbs 31 to fulfill their part in making their family effective in their responsibilities.

Men, do you want to affect society for the kingdom of God for generations to come? Take Scott Brown's vision of Proverbs 31 to heart and share the future of the Kingdom of God with your daughters.

True Beauty

True Beauty is a series of messages from the 2008 Vision Forum Fathers and Daughters discipleship retreat... This is the first in a series of reviews of the entire set of messages.

Review of Foundational Vision for Fathers and Daughters, True Beauty #1

To set the foundation for the Father-daughter retreat Geoff Botkin and Scott Brown briefly share their vision for relationships between fathers and daughters. They discuss the part they hope to play in reforming the father-daughter relationship for those who will take to heart the message that they have to share at this conference. This is the second in the series of reviews of the messages in the True Beauty series.

Review of Transitions from Beautiful Girlhood to Noble Womanhood #3 True Beauty

What you do speaks so loud I can't hear what you say. When the two messages conflict this cliché rings loud and clear. However, when what you do is harmonious with what you say a symphony of true beauty cascades over your community. When this symphony is in the form of beautiful girlhood growing into a noble, Biblical, Christian womanhood the effect on society is a true work of beauty.
